Ok I've been working on the retooling of The Stoa and Video Game Life while trying to get school work done and do my daddy duties. Things are coming together nicely. I am starting on custom graphics since I have gotten a nice boost in playing with photoshop.
Hey everyone as you can see I am in the middle of retooling the site. As I go through college for web design and development, I will more than likely use my own blog for pet projects. I've upgraded wordpress to 3.0, so far I am really impressed with the new features.
I've officially gone rogue. I have grown tired of Facebook and Myspace making money off of my info and the info of my friends and family. A lot of people are clamoring for a replacement, a private secure social web. Well I am not going to wait, check back later for more details.
Wow it's late and I am very tired. I just finnished up all the paper work I need to start full Sail next month. I'll be sending it out in the morning, I can't wait to get going on that. As for now I can focuse on my websites and home projects before may 3rd. I still got the bathroom to paint! And a few updates to the stoa and some new themes and logo to create. Well I am off to sleep.
OK, so I have had my new notebook for a week now, so I think its time for a review. First off Dell delivered early, even by a few days that's a plus to me. Considering the almost 1 month build period for custom machines.
So I ordered a Studio 17 with:
Intel Core i7 720QM 1.6GHz (2.8 GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB Cache)
6GB, DDR3, 1333MHz, 2 DIMM
17.3 inch HD+ (900p) Bright LED Display with TrueLife and Camera
ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 4650 1GB
1TB (2x500GB) 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English
8X DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Drive
Integrated High Definition Audio 2.2
I must say this thing is a beast, when doing pretty much anything. Gaming is awesome with it, it does tend to get hotter than I like during gaming but I can take care of that with the thermaltake laptop cooler. Sound is great on this thing, it's running JBL speakers with a sub built in. All in all I give it a 9.5 out of 10. The other .5 was taken off for the high gloss finish that I have to clean all the time because of smudges!
All in all it's worth giving Dell a try, just stay away from there customer support lines they are horrible.
Wow dell shipped out my laptop ahead of it's esd of 03/26/2010 and will arrive tomorrow which also is ahead of it's edd of 03/29/2010. This makes me very very happy, as all my goodies I've bought to go with my laptop have all been arriving in the last few days and the rest should arrive tomorrow along with the laptop!
This mean I'll be cranking out more projects faster! Especially since I got my wacom yesterday!
I am still waiting on my new laptop. Dell seems to have some ridiculous build and ship times for custom machines. Their estimated ship date is a month away from when I ordered it. Under any normal circumstances you can build a pc in roughly an hour. Give or take another hour for software installs. I really don't see the need for this 3 week build and ship, especially since I only upgraded the HD and memory.
As with everything their slowness equals my in ability to get things done on time. I hate waiting for things like this, I mean come on I am a geek and waiting on a new high end pc is like Christmas night for me. All in all as soon as it gets here ill be working my butt off on some new stuff for the sites!
Being an avid Halo fan and pretty much owning every piece of legendary Halo crap you can buy, it's safe to assume I am in the running for the Halo Reach beta. I thought I would share this video I came across today showing off the Halo Reach beta that arrives this May 3rd. I must say it is looking to be an end all Halo game. Now if you'll excuse me I must change my pants.
It's always been a child hood dream to strap on a proton pack and bust some ghost. Well one guy took this dream to the closest step possible, with a mod for the Wii Ghostbusters game. I do say I want one of these!
Modder Jack Rossi took it upon himself to build the controller for the ‘Ghostbuster Wii’ game that we all dreamed about. Yup, your very own ‘Ghostbuster Proton Pack’.
The replicate ‘Ghostbuster Proton Pack’ is fully functional, even the back pack which tells the player how much power left in the pack and which player is selected in the game.
It really feels like forever since I have felt the sweet surge of power running through my belly. Is there a nationwide power outage that Gam3r Phfreak isn't telling me about? Email me if there is a blackout... oh... wait...
